The best authentic Dominican food I’ve had in a Miami. I ordered “Albóndiga, Moro de Guandules, plantains, and avocado”. Although it was busy around lunch time, the service was phenomenal. I was quickly greeted by server and a staff in the kitchen area who was serving food. I look forward to coming back to try their Dominican cake and sancocho.

Loved it!!! Authentic Dominican food with amazing servers that provide excellent service. Found this place because it was near my hotel and what a gem I found. The breakfast and dinner are amazing and I can't wait to eat here again. I have to rank this as one of my top 10 places to eat. Along with great food, the prices are insanely low which makes this restaurant even better. I would have taken pictures but the food tasted so good I totally forgot. Look at the other pictures for this restaurant and they do it justice. Came back after six years, and it was just as good as the first time.

Right along the Palmetto, exit 103rd St, corner of 20 Ave W and 62 St Hialeah, lots of parking, loud music plus people talking, noisy, picadera is good but no longaniza on it, Dominican restaurants are like Cubans now, on certain days some foods, so Saturday no carne guidada no Sancocho, small portions, every main dish is $20 + ..the BEST COLDEST beer , only one desert, small flan not as good, longaniza is not real Dominican , Bacalao was great, about $40 per person…

I recently visited Mangu Cafe Restaurant, and it delivered a satisfying and authentic introduction to Dominican comfort food. Located in the Hialeah area, the restaurant has the relaxed and welcoming atmosphere typical of neighborhood Caribbean eateries. The dining space is simple and practical, with the focus clearly placed on serving hearty traditional dishes that reflect Dominican home-style cooking. The menu centers around classic Dominican staples, with mangú naturally being one of the highlights. Mangú is a traditional dish made from mashed green plantains, usually served with eggs, cheese, or meats, and it captures the comforting character of Dominican breakfast cuisine. The version served here had a smooth texture and rich flavor that paired well with the savory accompaniments. The balance between the plantains and the salty elements of the dish created a satisfying and well-rounded plate. Another strength of the restaurant is the preparation of slow-cooked meats and traditional sides. Dominican cuisine often combines rice, beans, stewed meats, and fried plantains to create balanced meals with both savory and slightly sweet elements. The meats were tender and well seasoned, and the rice and beans complemented the proteins nicely without overpowering the dish. These traditional combinations reflect the comforting and hearty style of Dominican home cooking. The seasoning across the dishes leaned toward garlic, herbs, and savory marinades rather than intense spice. This approach allows the natural flavors of the ingredients to stand out while still delivering depth and warmth. Portions were generous and filling, which is consistent with the style of Caribbean comfort food where meals are designed to be both satisfying and nourishing. Service during the visit was friendly and welcoming. Staff members maintained a relaxed and approachable attitude that helped create a comfortable dining environment. Restaurants that specialize in cultural cuisine often stand out because of the pride behind the food, and that sense of authenticity was noticeable throughout the experience. Overall, Mangu Cafe Restaurant offers a flavorful and authentic Dominican dining experience with hearty traditional dishes, generous portions, and welcoming service. It is an excellent option for anyone interested in exploring Dominican comfort food in the Hialeah area.

I ordered from this restaurant from Uber eats. I was very pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food the taste in the presentation. The chicken soup is the BEST chicken soup I have ever had. I also ordered the Mofongo and the platter with sausages beef and chicken and lots of plantains and cheese. The serving size was wonderful for two people I will have enough food for the next day. And I will definitely go in person to have a meal. Thank you!! If you want the Chicken soup in the restaurant, since it is prepared a la minute be prepared to wait at least 30 minutes if you don’t go on Mondays.
